Last summer I needed to take an internship in some media as a part of my studies at university at the faculty of journalism. This is how I happened to live in Kiev for one month. After the end of my internship I stayed in Kiev as an MDF scholarship holder till the end of the summer.
I am and I have always been against one day trips. Short journeys do not give you an essence of a new place. In order to embrace a spirit of a city (or a town) truly you have to spend there at least one week. One month is even better.
I am glad that I have lived in Kiev for almost the whole summer. I have found and explored some nooks, back streets and parks I wouldn't have found otherwise. I have seen it rain or shine.
Today's Kiev is bloomy, colourful and for some reason just un peu soviétique (this is just the impressions these photos give me).
The colours on the photos are a little bit different. This is how it happened. The photos are film from an old point-and-shoot camera. Whether the problem lies in camera itself, in film development or printing, the colours do look strange. The apogee of the colour madness is the sky that looks pinkish. After scanning them I have been experimenting with colour correction, but as they say: "live and learn".
