Estonia is a northern land. It does not belong to Nordic countries but it is almost as cold. What seems to be a warm golden September on these photographs is a deadly cold mid-October. The sun plays its role in creating this beautiful delusion. My light coat plays along.
Every time I passed that pond my question would always sound: Why the ducks are still here? But they were there. Every morning. They stayed even when the water froze over. Actually they never flew away. Somehow it does not fit the stereotype of winter bird migration, that was carefully planted in my head from the early childhood.
